The challenges of fitting it all in

I started this off originally with a different topic in mind. I actually wrote nearly the entire post about Fat Tuesday and Lent. Then I thought, "OMG this has nothing to do with my concept of my blog." Therefore, back to the drawing board and onto this post!

So this week has been trying for me. And yes, I do recognize it's ONLY Wednesday. It's not trying because I am stressed out or because there is a lot going on. It is trying because my regular job, the one I do 7am - 3pm before I immerse myself in Crossfit, has required extra time at night on my part. Time I normally spend at the box.

I have to say though, my food is 100% on point this week. I spent hours Sunday prepping my food for the week, making sure I had variety in all the different areas (protein, veggies, and fruit) and planning my week. This is probably the BEST food prep I have done since I began the Whole30 and Paleo eating so for that I am proud.

Now the planning for workouts: my normal routine consists of Crossfit in some form 6-7 days a week. No joke. 6 is the least. 7 is if I go in on Sunday. Last week it was 7. This week, well....I am frustrated. Monday was a holiday (Presidents Day) and so I worked out in the morning before meeting my best friend for lunch and working at the box later. Day 1, check. Day 2, I had to interview roofing companies for my property. In the evening. It went till 9pm. When I normally workout. So day 2, no workout. AND it happened to be 2 AMRAP's (As Many Reps/Rounds As Possible)....these are my absolute favorite workouts. 12 minutes each, they are short and sweet (okay maybe not SWEET per say but you will definitely SWEAT) and I just can't get enough of them. And I had to miss it. So I have already concluded I will make this up on Sunday, which is Day 7. And today is day 3. I have a NEW bunko group staring today. I cannot miss it. So I have already discussed my training with my coach. I am going to workout while I should be working the office. I love her, she's great like that. Okay, today covered, check. Tomorrow, I have another evening meeting for roofing interviews that will go most of the night. Even if it doesn't go as long as last night, there is no way I can squeeze in a workout, the timing just won't work. So since I have worked 2 late nights I have decided to come in late and complete the 6am class on Thursday. There, workout covered, check. The rest of the week is normal, workout Friday after work and Saturday at either 9am or 10am. Sunday, make up for Tuesday's missed workout.

I'll admit, I get a little crazy with my scheduling. But I am very much a schedule oriented person. I have to have my week planned out. I have 3 different planners, 2 paper ones and my phone. Anything that throws it off of my norm, scares me. So, the fact that I am able to plan a work around to make the amount of workouts I need is great. Oh, and I'll need to figure out when I am going to do the extra lifts I have for the week. But that's neither here nor there.

This is important to me. Almost more important that my regular job (can't let that happen, but I want to!) so I need to prioritize and make sure I can do what I need to do to make myself happy. Happy for me is working out. I don't think I am obsessive about it (although some may disagree) but it keeps me in check. It regulates my crazy life and it is a constant that I can count on. And I don't ever want to give that up.
