The Break Through
When it comes to working out, eating right, being healthy, etc. I am always looking for the next best thing. Not because what I do doesn't work, but I get bored easily or whatever it is that I am doing stops working. I was recently introduced to Isagenix by some fellow CrossFitters at my box. While many at my box that tried it had the idea they could loose weight, I was looking for more of an increase in performance. I felt I was thin enough (135 consistently) but could afford to loose some inches, get leaner, and stronger.
I was eating well and I eating often. I had been doing CrossFit for about 1 year. I had so many breakthrough's but felt like I wanted more. I wasn't sure I was getting the proper nutrients in that I needed to fuel my workouts. So I decided to try Isagenix.
I bought the whole performance pack that comes with IsaLean Pro shakes (extra protien), ionix, amped, e+shots, IsaLean bars, and the cleanse stuff. (Click on the link to see the full pack) Let me tell you, I got the stuff and nearly gave up right then and there. It was SO overwhelming. Where was I suppose to start? How could I possibly incorporate ALL these things into my already hectic day?
I started reading up on the system and spent several weeks (due to planned vacations and other events) trying some of the products and seeing what would work for me. Finally, after a trip to Chicago, I returned, ready to go.
I began by taking the IsaLean Pro 2x a day; once in the morning and once in the afternoon pre workout, usually 1 hour or so before the workout. I have tried SO many different proteins over the years and this stuff rocks. It's tasty (I prefer Chocolate with Almond Milk but Vanilla is good too!) and smooth, not clumpy. Although you can blend it with other fruits and make smoothies, I was only adding these in for my increase in protein, and did not want more calories.
I took ionix supreme first thing in the morning. I was surprised by this stuff. It tastes terrible however, it gives you this awake, focused, alert feeling that's better than coffee. I never wanted coffee the entire first week I took it. Now, I still don't want coffee but I drink it sometimes because I like the flavor. (Black of course!)
I tried the amped. I was skeptical because of the flavor. Cherry-berry. I hate cherry anything. Fortunately, this stuff knocks it out of the park. It gives you that extra you need to lift a little bit more and tastes great! I took it 15-20 minutes pre workout.
Post workout, I took IsaPro, the whey protein, with replenish. Initially I drank these two things separate however, I soon realized the vanilla IsaPro would blend well taste wise with the grape replenish and so it became my post drink.
That was pretty much it in the beginning. I had to wait a week to cleanse for the first time (the cleansing is only for 1 day and involved a drink called Cleanse for Life as well as some other snacks (really more like chalky wafers and a lot of water.) I am not going to go into detail on the cleanse in this post. If you have questions about it feel free to reach out to me.
I am almost 30 days into it. I have switched some things up. Now I also take the IsaLean Shake in the morning and the IsaLeanPro in the afternoon for more protein before the workout. I still take the ionix ever morning and I still love it. I also began incorporating Greens into my Strawberry IsaLean Shakes. I take all my shakes with almond milk and I track all my intake of food. I still love my amped and recently completed my whey day following a cleanse day (a day where you only take in whey protein). This is the day the breakthrough occurred.

After a Monday of cleansing, I opted for a whey day. I workout 6x per week, sometimes multiple times a day, so two days of cleansing is never really an option for me. I got through the day fine, a bit more hungry than I expected but manageable with my water intake.
During the workout, I took my weights down a bit for the lifting portion but not that much. During the met con the weights were reasonable and so I did the workout Rx (as prescribed). 4 pull ups, 8 dumbbell strict press and 16 kettle bell swings. I recently accomplished a pull up and have been working on getting more than 1 or 2 at a time. Somehow, during this 20 minute AMRAP, I did ALL 4 pulls ups for each round and managed a total of 8 rounds with pull ups unbroken at least 6-7 times! This was AFTER a cleanse day and during a whey day. I was shocked and pleased all at the same time.
I quickly realized that what I have been doing IS working. Although this was my BIG break through, I have also finally been able to purchase pants in size 4 since starting the program. I also took my measurements and although they aren't that much different from when I started, I am clearly leaner and my stomach is clearly flatter.
I am no longer skeptical. This stuff works. I am a fan for life.
